Remember Beanie Babies, Slap Bracelets, Tomagotchis, and more recently Dumplings and Labubus? I hate to tell you but there is going to be a new fad hitting just as school starts. LamaTamas. They are copying a couple of business models, creating the perfect storm for draining your money, but honestly, if you get away with buying only one, they are kind of fun and pretty cute.
They are like Magic 8 Balls where they answer your questions, but rather than shaking it up, you ask a yes-or-no question, and it answers with a nod “yes” or a shake of the head “no.” Magic 8-Ball similarities aside, where they get you is the random collectible nature of the sale. You can’t pick what it looks like, so they have random appearances and corresponding names, and also super rare versions like Dumplings, so your kids force you to buy more and more until they find one that has a more transparent look than the others.
I guess my point is to snag one or two quickly before they disappear and you have to listen to your kid tell you that you are a failure. And as the title suggests, you can ask it actual important questions after the kids go to bed, and it will give you real-life advice. Life Hack: If you don’t like the answer, ask it if it was joking or if it was sure about its answer – IF it ever has the balls to say you’ve had enough for the night.

Get on it before it’s too late

Verdict: Honestly Cute and Fun
I’d want one if I were a kid. And also as someone turning 29 for the 15th time.
